Dissolving medical waste.

چکیده
WebMOTIFS provides a web interface that facilitates the discovery and analysis of DNA-sequence motifs. Several studies have shown that the accuracy of motif discovery can be significantly improved by using multiple de novo motif discovery programs and using randomized control calculations to identify the most significant motifs or by using Bayesian approaches. WebMOTIFS makes it easy to apply these strategies. Using a single submission form, users can run several motif discovery programs and score, cluster and visualize the results. In addition, the Bayesian motif discovery program THEME can be used to determine the class of transcription factors that is most likely to regulate a set of sequences. Input can be provided as a list of gene or probe identifiers. Used with the default settings, WebMOTIFS accurately identifies biologically relevant motifs from diverse data in several species. WebMOTIFS is freely available at http://fraenkel.

Dissolving microneedle patch for transdermal delivery of human growth hormone.
The clinical impact of biotechnology has been constrained by the limitations of traditional hypodermic injection of biopharmaceuticals. Microneedle patches have been proposed as a minimally invasive alternative. In this study, the translation of a dissolving microneedle patch designed for simple, painless self-administration of biopharmacetucials that generates no sharp biohazardous waste is as...
متن کاملMaterials Separation from Waste Liquid Crystal Displays Using Combined Physical Methods
With the liquid crystal displays (LCDs) being widely used in televisions, notebooks, and mobile phones, etc., large quantities of LCDs are entering into their end-of-life stage for treatment. If not treated properly, a loss of resources and undesirable impacts on the environment and human health can occur. In order to treat the waste LCDs in an efficient and environmentally friendly way, a comb...
متن کاملEffect of PVP on the characteristic of modified membranes made from waste PET bottles for humic acid removal
Background: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the possibility of using recycled polymer (waste polyethylene terephthalate [PET] bottles) as a membrane material. Furthermore, the effect of the addition of a pore-forming agent and preparation conditions was also observed. Methods: Porous polymeric membranes were prepared via thermally induced phase separation by dissolving recycled PET...
متن کاملElectrocoagulation: an electrochemical process for water clarification
Electrocoagulation is a group of various procedures used for removing contaminants from water by electrochemically dissolving aluminum or iron. The contaminants of the solution may be incorporated in the in situ forming metal hydroxide flocs, which can be filtered as a precipitate or skimmed as a float. The main features of the procedure are highlighted on the example of cleaning of an oily was...
